Bev Carroll and John Taylor led a meeting, March 20, where 13 participants discussed projects under construction or in planning stages (Indoor Sports and Events Center, connectivity proposal, performing arts and education center) and the desire to have cultural and historic centers to share Rock Hill’s history and the African American history of our city. Space for artist studios was also described as desirable. Some model cities mentioned were Greenville, Newberry, and Florence where a trip is planned to visit a performing arts center.
The next meeting was April 4 at 4PM at the Glencairn Garden Learning Center where we discussions continued working towards 5 tourism-related goals. Team updates have been shared to knowledgeparkrocks.com as well as information on the Indoor Sports and Events Center. We will continue to add information including hotel plans and progress reports and photos as the Indoor Center rises from the ground.
