Homework? Nah

I am excited about the upcoming meeting on 2/27. I have shared this placemaking booklet with some of you in the past. Let's all try to give a look before the meeting. Maybe you can even find some of your own publications about placemaking. Remember, nothing is too big or too small until it is. Also, Martin and Liam will be in Nashville this coming week and I am sure they will take some great pics of their placemaking finds. I will be in Asheville the first week of April and will do the same. Do any of you have an upcoming trips to interesting spots?

On March 14th, Project for Public Spaces (PPS) hosted a 2 day workshop in the Gettys Courtroom, where RHEDC, community members, Placemaking team members, and city staff came together to identify placemaking opportunities in Knowledge Park. We participated in several group exercises, did a walking tour of downtown, and created concept placemaking maps for 5 specific locations. PPS then created a Placemaking Master Plan in the following weeks, designed to activate underutilized spaces in Knowledge Park that will attract knowledge workers, businesses, residents, and visitors. I ran across this over the weekend - while this particular initiative is to increase diversity in the food industry, I thought the concept was pretty cool and perhaps even doable in Rock Hill. http://www.thetableisset.com/
