Food offerings

We need a variety of food offerings to serve the people who will work, live and play in Knowledge Park. One of my favorite places in Greenville, SC is Caviar and Bananas. http://www.caviarandbananas.com. It's a gourmet/fresh food place in a very casual atmosphere. In Greenville, you can grab a fresh "made to order" salad or sandwich and glass of wine or coffee and sit outside on a closed street watching others walk by. Your dog can join you in the outside dining area. This type of place could also serve the business clientele in Knowledge Park.

I have been to Caviar and Bananas in Charleston at the Market. The place in Greenville looks so much better! It has a wine bar and dinner options as well as sit down lunch and also, grab and go options. we definitely need to look at places like this! Thank you, Donna!

On March 14th, Project for Public Spaces (PPS) hosted a 2 day workshop in the Gettys Courtroom, where RHEDC, community members, Placemaking team members, and city staff came together to identify placemaking opportunities in Knowledge Park. We participated in several group exercises, did a walking tour of downtown, and created concept placemaking maps for 5 specific locations. PPS then created a Placemaking Master Plan in the following weeks, designed to activate underutilized spaces in Knowledge Park that will attract knowledge workers, businesses, residents, and visitors. I ran across this over the weekend - while this particular initiative is to increase diversity in the food industry, I thought the concept was pretty cool and perhaps even doable in Rock Hill. http://www.thetableisset.com/
