At the kickoff meeting, we discussed the need to identify what to say, who to say it to, and how to say it. I'd suggest a good action item would be to create a communications and marketing plan (or maybe two) to identify key messages, specific target audiences and ways to reach them. Maybe a plan for Rock Hill residents and a plan for the business community since the messages and audiences are very different (educating residents about why they should care vs. communicating to businesses about the benefits of being in Knowledge Park).

Please consider a consolidation of names (identifiers) which will be used going forward as we market and discuss our redeveloping city. We have Knowledge Park, Old Town, downtown and University Center (in some cases) being used simultaneously. These names have different meanings to people and confusion can easily occur. Perhaps a thorough rethinking of what terms we will use would be productive?
